《英文杂志》1915年1月创刊于上海，又名The English Student，月刊，属于教育类刊物。发行人为印有模，吴继杲、胡哲谋等曾先后担任主编。
初由上海商务印书馆发行，地址在上海北河南路北首宝山路，后由英文杂志社发行，地址在上海闸北宝山路华字十五号。具体停刊时间及原因不详，馆藏最后一期为1927年12月1日发行的第十三卷第十二号。
刊登内容
刊载英语的学习体会及学习方法、英语练习题、英语短文、英语知识介绍等，以供读者更好的学习英语，内容十分丰富。前页载有英文目录，有关翻译的内容既有英译汉又有汉译英，其题材以文学、时论以及小说为主，一般都为中英文对照，便于读者阅读与学习。
英文内容主要目的以增进英文知识为主，有英文作文以及对英文文法的学术研究以及读书时的体会等，还刊登有一些英文诗歌的翻译。中英文对照翻译中，中文部分既有文言文也有白话文，在文后还有对其中出现的专有名词的详细解释。
该刊还曾举办“三十字夺取锦标”的征文大赛，是以三十字为限的英文作文为题，录取标准有思想、词句、书法三项。许多文章的内容中出现的较难的英语词汇或人名都配有中文翻译，以供读者参考学习。
该刊还登载有许多与英语学习有关的杂志及书籍的广告，如《英文典大全》等，对这些书籍的简要介绍也都为英文。
