Eunning heads 就是逐页的标题，是论文题目的节缩，在论文刊登在期刊上时，出现在每页的顶端，方便读者辨识文章【印】(报纸、印刷品每页的)栏外标题(=running title)

Running heads show the current text of a certain paragraph, like a heading. For example, you can have the contents of the current Heading 1 display on each page. Each new instance of a Heading 1 changes the running head text starting at that point until another Heading 1 appears in the document. 逐页标题指论文题目的精简形式，出现于文稿的页首左上角，并同时包含页码，以确保文稿内容依照页码顺序排列。另外，在期刊论文的审查过程中，匿名审查机制降低了稿件的辨识度，而逐页标题能帮助期刊编辑辨认稿件，也能确保作者之匿名性。至于在已出版的期刊论文中，逐页标题会出现在于文章的基数页，帮助读者一目了然论文大致研究方向。 《APA Publication Manual》第五版针对逐页标题给出了明确的规定，即论文所有题名页（title page）的页首，都须以“Running head: 标题”的形式明确给出逐页标题，方便于之后的编辑排版。 逐页标题是论文题目的精简版本，长度不得超过50个字母（包含空格），均以大写字母呈现。注意，出现在逐页标题之前的“Running head:”不纳入字数计算。 直接截取论文题目的前50个字母并不是个好方法。逐页标题应能精准地呈现论文的研究主题。 假如论文题目为：A Review and Meta-Analysis of the First Decade of Articles About the Psychology of Monkeys，而直接截取的形式并不可行：A REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS OF THE FIRST DECADE OF，应为：REVIEW OF THE PSYCHOLOGY OF MONKEYS。 开启Microsoft Word中的自动页首设定功能，将逐页标题设置在页首区域的左上方。逐页标题跟页面顶端或边界的距离可直接采用Word的默认设定，不需额外调整。 在页首区域内设置逐页标题（包含页码），并采用标题靠左对齐，页码靠右对齐的形式。文稿四个边界距离（margin）均应设定为1英吋。逐页标题应采大写，且不得超过50个字母（包含空格）。
