预防医学专业就业领域很广,涉及医学和非医学领域的各相关专业。医学领域可从事临床工作(进传染病科室)。从事临床科研工作(进流行病、地方病研究所),或者从事卫生防疫、卫生宣传普及,卫生事业管理、社会医学研究等相关工作。非医领域可从事环境保护与监测、海关疫检等。总之,预防医学专业由于所学课程的多样性和本专业所学的边缘性,使该专业的毕业生初步具备了向多种方向发展的能力。 就当前情况来看,用人单位主要是卫生防疫、检验部门,但临床机构和环保单位所占用人比例有明显上升趋势。就业方向的多元化使预防医学专业毕业生的工作性质也趋向于多种。但其根本离不开“预防疾病”与“社会群体”。即立足社会。以群体为工作研究对象,进行疾病预防和卫生保健及工作。 近年来,我国性病、爱滋病流行有抬头趋势,我国预防医学学者谢春荣、王书诒等人倡导并发起了预防性病、爱滋病的宣传活动,使广大群众认识了上述疾病的实质和传播途径,有效扼制了疾病的传播。李文生等人撰写的《中国地方病防治》一文获96年世界预防医学学会优秀论文金奖。 就业注意事项:预防医学就业领域虽广,但本科教育只是向学生灌输了一些基本知识,涉及相关领域还很不深入,就业后应不断学习相关领域知识,接受继续教育。 就业状况及收入状况:收入状况则依所选就业方向而定。一般选择与医疗相关行业,如临床、卫生防疫,收入偏低(与整个医疗系统收入偏低有关),如从事研究工作则待遇较好。从事非医疗工作则收入可观。 目前预防医学专业就业领域关联的主要行业可分为三类,发展各不相同。一类临床医疗和卫生防疫部门发展缓慢,且缺乏活力,但随着医疗制度改革力度的不断
